My Summer Task

Aim 

This unit aims to develop learners' understanding of camera and lighting equipment and provide the skills needed to use this equipment in moving image.

Checklist

Research
Post an explanation of how camera and lighting affects camera techniques for moving image

Focus
  • Video evidence of using pull focus (10-20 seconds long)
  • Explanation of the different types of focusing using a DSLR
ISO
Video evidence (10-20 Seconds long) of the following ISO range:
  • ISO 100
  • ISO 1600
  • Filming ISO at night
Shutter Speed
Include an explanation of how changing the shutter speed affects motion
  • Show shutter speed, for example 1/30 second
  • Fast shutter speed, for example 1/100 second
Aperture 
Exemplify the following aperture with video evidence using different lenses:
  • F2.8 (using 50mm/ 60 mm/ 135mm lens)
  • F8 (using wide angle lens and standard lens)
  • F16 or F22 (lens of your choice)
Lighting
Video evidence (10-20 Seconds long) of the following: 
  • Using LED lights in an interview setup
  • Using studio lights - Rembrandt and Butterfly
  • 3 Point Lighting setup
  • Using reflectors
  • Creating shadows in an experimental set up
  • Low key lighting
  • High key lighting
With each of these take a photograph of your setup and reflect on the health and safety required to set up correctly
